Growing up I loved flipping through the photo albums that my mom had put together – like all the photos we snapped on those disposable Kodak cameras…yep we weren’t fancy haha. As we started getting older I noticed we had less and less photos to look through. The busy-ness of life took over and looking back, I wish we had been more intentional about having photos taken as me and my brother grew up.

What I love about the clients we work with year after year, is photos are a huge priority for them!

Photos are something I’m passionate about having captured as John and I grow our lives together, and I put just as much emphasis on each session I have the opportunity to capture with you. Whether it be spending time with your family’s newborn at home or popping champagne at a college graduation session – these are moments I want to celebrate with you, and are memories that you will cherish for a lifetime!

The Session Experience

Portrait sessions are always unique and reflect you. I love chatting in advance about your ideas, outfit inspiration, coming up with a location that best suits your vision, the best timing, and making sure that this is a fun, memorable experience.

Are you concerned about what to do with your hands or how to “pose” at your session? I’ve got you! I recognize that you aren’t in front of a camera very often, so I like to give plenty of direction. I find we all use the word “posing” a lot and I’d like to change that – I like to direct and prompt at our sessions. Yes, I might start out with a few traditional “poses” as a warm up, but what I am looking for are those authentic moments that showcase you and your family.

Are you worried about your newborn or toddler not behaving? Please don’t stress! I approach every session (especially with young kiddos) with grace and patience. If we need to work around nap times or snack times, that’s totally doable!
